i LOVE this corner of the Jardin du Luxembourg..
i spent a lot of time there, just in front of that fountain. it's the most melancholic place in paris, i think

Thanks. It was the simplest of the series, but I think I like it the best still.

What's the process, enamel on steel?

Nope, just pierced copper. Hours and hours sawing away the metal.

Ohhhhhh, I get it. I was confused by the black background. Wow, you got patience girl. How thick is the copper and what are the dimensions of the piece? Have you ever etched metal? I took 4 semesters of jewelry in college and loved it, that and glass-blowing.

Let's see.. I want to say it's maybe 18 gauge, 4 x 6 inches. I've etched with ferric acid (all the enamel fish in my gallery were etched, then filled) - and I should be graduating on sunday with a degree in metalworking and jewlerymaking. :)
